Midterm illustration project for David Yee's ART28 class fall2010. We were assigned random words which became the subjects for our drawings, which we were allowed any medium of our choice. Mine was lobster; so I took it from there and came up with ideas for how lobsters use their claws. This assignment was supposed to teach us the basic principles of illustration including looking for references and thumbnailing ideas. Lineart was done in graphite, and 3 hours coloring on openCanvas.

dirty children hands

charcoal reversal midterm project for Cameron's ART112A class. original image was taken from LIFE images on Google. spent 53 hours on this piece. it was also the first time i have ever drank coffee for anything. pretty glad on how this piece turned out in the end. my hands were black for a couple weeks after this was finished.
